JIM BAKAITIS, LCPC
Jim received a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Eastern Michigan University, and practices as a licensed clinical professional counselor in Illinois. He has worked in a variety of mental health and medical settings over the past 22 years, providing psychotherapy and testing services to children, adolescents, families, couples, and adults. Over the last five years he has provided health psychotherapy services in Gibson City and understands the concerns and needs of people living in such communities. Prior to his work as a therapist, Jim Bakaitis was a medical and mental health technician in the US Air Force. Later, he worked as a Limited License Psychologist in Michigan, where he provided neuropsychological testing and treatment. He has health psychology research experience with stroke patients at the neuroscience laboratory at the University of Michigan and low vision laboratory at the University of Illinois at Chicago. His professional interests in health psychology include treating patients with chronic pain and physical disorders, depression and anxiety, insomnia, ADHD and psychogenic disorders. He utilizes talk therapies and biofeedback to help patients manage physical and psychological symptoms. Psychological testing services are available on request.
