ALLISON DENEHY, LCPC

Allison Denehy is a licensed clinical professional counselor who received her undergraduate degree from The University of Iowa and her Masters degree in clinical-counseling psychology from Illinois State University. Prior to her work with Psychology Specialists, Ms. Denehy was an elementary school teacher in Galesburg, Illinois, a crisis intervention and assessment specialist at Heritage Behavioral Health Center in Decatur, Illinois, and a primary addictions therapist at Chestnut Health Systems in Bloomington, Illinois. She works with adults and adolescents using cognitive-behavioral and person-centered psychotherapy. Her professional interests include the psychological treatment of chronic pain and physical illness, fibromyalgia, addiction and alcohol abuse, depression and anxiety, and unresolved grief and loss issues. She has completed extensive educational training in the areas of biofeedback, relaxation training, progressive muscle relaxation, and guided imagery. Ms. Denehy also coordinates care with other health-care professionals and administers testing to adults suffering from possible memory loss and cognitive dysfunctions.
